Alfonso La Grange Jr., a long-time resident of Watsonville, passed away on May 13, 2014 at the age of 79.
Alfonso was born on February 28, 1935 in Eagle Pass, Texas to his parents Alfonso and Ninfa La Grange.
He came to California when he was 17 and lived with his Uncle Griff and Aunt Conseulo Bowles in Aromas. He worked 24 years for Granite Construction as a crane operator and 14 years for Granite Rock and retired from there.
Alfonso leaves behind his wife of 59 years Beverly La Grange, his daughter; Susan Bennett and her husband Brad, his son; Richard and his wife Brenda. Alfonso also leaves behind his grandsons; Josh(Amy) Lopez, Travis Lopez, Jeff (Jamie) La Grange, Austin La Grange, Great-Grandchildren; Riley, Connor, Drew Lopez, Harrison, Sawyer and Bennett La Grange. His brother, Carlos and his wife Julia La Grange, sisters; Alicia L. Watrous, Ninfa Torralba, Toni Hernandez and along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main Street., Watsonville. Graveside services will follow Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Road.
