Arnold Clarence Harvey

July 3, 1941 — May 7, 2024

Watsonville

Arnold passed away from a sudden illness on May 7, 2024.

Arnold was born on July 3, 1941 in Fremont, California but lived most of his life in Watsonville.  After high school, he followed in his father’s footsteps working in the agriculture industry for 30 plus years.

Later in life, Arnold developed a reputation for his BBQ and cooking skills as well as his green thumb for gardening. Every morning, he would have a cup of coffee with his best friends, Frank and Loretta Estrada, before making his daily trip to his garden up on the ranch. Those who knew Arnold had the pleasure of enjoying his cooking and fresh vegetables from the garden.

Arnold was a lifelong bachelor and very much enjoyed his friends, tractors, four wheelers, and cocktails. Arnold was never one to say no to a good time.

Arnold leaves behind his “family” Frank (Loretta) Estrada, Grant (Kelly) Estrada, Greg (Janet) Estrada, (Laura (Brian), Logan, Luke, Zach, Paris, Cash, and Grant) and many other close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence, and his mother Adeline.

If you are so inclined, donations can be made in Arnold’s memory to: Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Foundation (Heritage Hall Project) 2601 East Lake Ave. Watsonville, CA 95076.

In his memory, we ask that you enjoy a glass of red wine or a mother’s milk and remember the man known as the Pygmy and Genius.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Ave Maria and a celebration of life will be forthcoming.
