Bonifacio L. Arellano came to Watsonville at the age of 13 years old. He started working in the fields, and stayed at the Labor Camp. Little did he know his foreman would be his Father-in-Law. He met his wife, Maria Argil Valenzuela they courted for about 3-4 years, married on May 1, 1950 and have 5 children. Bonifacio leaves three sons; Alex Arellano and wife June, David and his wife Cippiana Arellano, Manuel Arellano; two daughters Irene and husband Hector Esquer, Diane and husband Sam Beltran, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was a very hard working man and devoted to his wife and family. He was a truck driver for over 60 years then retired to help his wife with their daycare. He cared for his wife in her last year before laying her to rest. Bonifacio enjoyed going to the Casino's and watching TV, collecting toy cars, watches, lighters etc. He and Maria supported three children in Mexico. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, loved sharing old time stories and giving them a piece of his mind.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 5:00-9:00pm with the Vigil to begin at 7:00pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main Street Watsonville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 16, 2013 will be at 10:00am at Saint Patrick's Church with internment to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, Watsonville.
