Edward S."Lalo" Mateo

On Tuesday, February 12th, 2013, Edward S. Mateo passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56.

Mr. Mateo leaves behind loving children Eddie and Crystal of Watsonville, his brothers Louie of Jamestown and Lionel of Washington state, as well as his lifetime partner Vicky Barcelo of Watsonville.

Born January 27th, 1957, Edward was a lifelong resident of Watsonville. He was a devoted father and longtime employee of Buchwald's Cold Storage. He enjoyed working on his 55 Chevy as well as arts and crafts, especially cabinetry. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, cooking outside with friends and family, and singing along to his favorite Mexican music and blues.

His love, laughter, smiles, and sense of humor will be missed, but will live on in our hearts forever.

Funeral services and visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, CA
