Elena Maldonado Rodriguez

On June 21, 2023, Elena Maldonado Rodriguez passed away at her home in Watsonville surrounded by her family. She was 89.

Elena was born on July 28, 1933, in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan to her proud parents Antonio Rodriguez and Maria de Jesus Lopez.

Elena was a very religious person who prayed daily and was an avid parishioner of Assumption Church. She enjoyed going to Elder day and enjoyed her family life in general.

She is survived by her children, Alicia Ramirez, Francisco Maldonado Jr., Maria Elena Maldonado, Jose Luis Maldonado, Rosa Maldonado and Arturo Maldonado. Also survived by 2 sisters, Catalina Frausto and Delfina Rodriguez. She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Maldonado, her parents, Antonio Rodriguez and Maria de Jesus Lopez and 6 siblings, Maria, Elodia, Juana, Anita, Lucina and Vicente.

Visitation will be held at Ave Maria memorial Chapel on July 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. The following day a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Mission San Juan Bautista located at 406 Main Street in San Juan Bautista followed by burial at Valley Public Cemetery located at 2445 E. Lake Ave in Watsonville.
