Elvira Vidales Mendoza died unexpectedly on November 11, 2022, in Colima, MX. She was born on July 13, 1949, in Tepalcatepec Michoacan to Salvador Mendoza Castaneda and Rafaela Guzman Chaves. She was a resident of Watsonville for over 50yrs.
She was also known as the founder of la Virgen de Guadalupe image that was found at Pinto Lake Park. She spent most of her time taking care of the sanctuary that was made there approximately when she wasn’t at the sanctuary, she loved cooking and gardening.
She is survived by her mother Rafaela Guzman Chaves and 4 children Eddie Vidales, Juan Diego Vidales, Maria Guadalupe Robinson, Enrique Vidales. As well as her siblings Alfonso Mendoza, Rafael Mendoza, Narciso Mendoza, Carlos Mendoza, Ana Hernandez, Eva Mendoza, Amparo Mendoza, and Linda Mendoza and 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her father Salvador Mendoza Castaneda and husband Rafael Vidales Sanchez.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 5-9 PM with a Rosary at 7pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Valley Catholic Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
