Ernie Vasquez died peacefully surrounded by his family in his home in Salinas on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015.
Mr. Vasquez enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and yard sales to find objects to refurbish and personalize. He was an avid 49er fan. He also enjoyed playing dominos with his wife, family reunion barbecues, and spending time with his children.
Mr. Vasquez, a native of Watsonville, is survived by his wife, Diana; sons, Ernie Jr. and Nathan; daughters, Lisette and Jestine; two grandsons; his mother, Ester Gervasio; and siblings, Jesse, Jenny, Lisa, Rosie, Christina, Pancho, Chino, and Peter.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St. Burial is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at Valley Public Cemetery.
