Felix Figueroa

Felix was born in Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato on May 18, 1940. He came to the United States with a 6th grade education at the age of 12. At this young age in Mission, Texas, he began his long history of labor to help support his family. In 1957, he arrived in Watsonville, California. Watsonville is where he rooted his family, long connection of family friends, and work history. He worked in the agriculture business for many years, drove to deliver bread for PV Bakery, was a truancy officer for PVUSD and managed Buena Vista Migrant Camp. His last years were spent enjoying what he referred to as his hobby, which was owner operator of Figueroa Farms and Figueroa Trucking. He was also very involved with Assumption Church for many years. Through his involvement with the church, he developed a great passion for serving others in many ways, but most importantly in the kitchen. He loved to cook and bake. He retired in 2001 due to health reasons and from that point on, he devoted his time and love to his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Felix was preceded in death by his parents Crescenciano Figueroa, Consuelo Figueroa and sister Pompeya Saucillo.
Felix is survived by; his wife Maria de los Angeles Villagomez de Figueroa, children; M.C. Figueroa, Francisco Figueroa, Maria de los Angeles Fuentes and spouse Fermin Fuentes, Aida SJ Figueroa, Felix Figueroa, Jr. and spouse Claudia Figueroa, Rosario Menor and spouse Dave Menor, Antonio Figueroa, Sarah B. Figueroa and spouse Jaromia Lashbrook, Noe Figueroa, Marisela Figueroa, Naim J. Figueroa and spouse Berenice Figueroa, Socrates A. Figueroa. Brothers; Sebastian Figueroa, Refugio Figueroa, Crescenciano Figueroa and sisters Elizabeth Villalpando and Francisca Lara; and 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 5:00-9:00 pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main Street, Watsonville. The Mass will be celebrated Friday; September 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at Saint Patrick's Church with burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Patrick and Debra Molina Carroll.
