Fortunato Renteria Garcia

On April 27, 2024, Fortunato Renteria Garcia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was 97.

Fortunato was born on June 11, 1926, in San Juan Citala, Jalisco, to his parents Bonifacio Renteria Monreal and Maria Felix Garcia Sanchez.

Fortunato was a hardworking man devoted to his family. He loved spending time in his garden, watching the news and having conversations about history and politics. He lived in San Pedro Tesistan, Jalisco and Watsonville for the past 54 years.

He is survived by his children, Caritina Bustos, Genaro Renteria, Adan Renteria, Eva Ramirez, Celina De La Cruz, Mario Renteria, Silvia Flores, Rocio Cruz and Maria Felix Perez, and 38 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marina Gonzalez de Renteria, and his siblings Jovita Renteria, Maria Renteria, Tomas Renteria, Agustin Renteria, Genaro Renteria and Fidel Renteria.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5:00-9:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church with the burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
