Francisca Rodriguez Escobar

April 2, 1931 — April 22, 2023

Francisca Rodriguez Escobar passed away at home surrounded by her family in Watsonville on April 22, 2023. She was 92.

Francisca was born on April 2, 1931, in Cueramaro Guanajuato, Mexico , to her parents Refugio Rodriguez and San Juana Rodriguez Pedroza.

Francisca was a hard-working lady dedicated to her family. From a young age she helped her mother with the family-owned restaurant, where her love for cooking was born. One of her biggest joys was cooking for her family and all those who came over to visit. Even if she only had “frijolitos”, as she called them, you could rest assured you had a meal waiting for you at her home. Francisca worked for many years in the strawberry fields for Driscolls. She would always make sure to bring a basket of strawberries for her grandkids to enjoy. That was just the thoughtful and caring person that Francisca was.

In return for her kindness, she was loved by so many. Everyone knew her as “Pachita”. Pachita, was a devoted mother to her twelve children: Reyes, Josefina, Natividad, Socorro, Cruz, Carmela, Cirilo, Graciela, Reyna, Rosa, San Juana, and Patricia. She always went above and beyond for her children. Pachita, leaves behind so many beautiful memories for her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She loved music. Playing Los Freddys on her record player was something she really enjoyed. Pachita will always be remembered for the loving, hardworking, and happy person that she always was.

Pachita, is proceeded in death by her loving parents San Juana and Refugio and her siblings: Celedonio, Guadalupe, Gavino, Petra, and Nicolas. She is survived by her sister Maria Rodriguez.

A visitation will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 5:00-9:00 PM. Mass will be be celebrated on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.

Pachita, will be dearly missed. She will always be loved and never forgotten.
