Gabriel Avila

Gabriel Murguia Avila at the age of 6 was granted his angel wings on April 6, 2013, following a courageous battle with Leukemia at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA.
Gabriel was born on April 7, 2006 in Watsonville, CA. He was a loving, smart, energetic and happy boy who stole everyone's heart when he stormed in a room. He loved running and jumping everywhere including inside the house. He refused to wear shoes inside the house and sometimes outside as well. His favorite colors were red and blue. He loved parties where he enjoyed a good piece of "Carne Asada" (grilled steak) followed by an even bigger piece of cake. Gabe was always the first one in line to get a piece of cake. He enjoyed attending Hall Elementary School, although, he preferred to stay at home and play video games. His favorites included Mario bros. & sonic. He could spend hours and hours playing.
With Gabriel's courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing opportunity to create lasting memories and with his passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. He was a fighter and fought until the end. He will be deeply missed but never will he be forgotten.

"Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 4-9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm, Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main Street, Watsonville, CA 95076. A Mass of The Angels will be celebrated on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Church of The Assumption, with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Donations to the family preferred.
