Gertrude G. Nagal

In loving memory of a life so beautifully lived, we mourn the loss of a wonderful mom, Gertrude G Nagal. On August 6th, 2023, Trudy peacefully passed away in her home at 98yrs old. Born in Baguio, Philippines, to Meliton and Juanita Geronimo, she was the last of her siblings and the oldest. Trudy was preceded in death by her loving husband Lorenzo, including two children.

Trudy, affectionately known as "Mamacita," was a sixth-grade teacher for several years and later moved to Watsonville in October 1998 following the loss of her husband. Her life journey led her to various roles, including being a real estate agent, sold jewelry, and nutritional vitamins. She had an immense passion for gardening, tending to orchids, roses, an array of flowers, Filipino vegetables, and diverse fruit trees.

Beyond her earthly pursuits, Trudy held a deep love for God that she shared with everyone she met. She was an inspiration to all, evangelizing the streets of Watsonville with unwavering dedication. Initially knocking on doors and later using a scooter due to mobility challenges, Trudy's faith-driven mission touched countless lives.

Trudy's faith wasn't just a personal journey; it was a ministry that left an indelible mark. Her faith in God's power brought about remarkable changes in her city. Watsonville will forever remember her as a beacon of positivity and love, forever transformed by her presence.

Leaving behind a legacy of love and service, Trudy is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her impact on the lives she touched will resonate for generations to come. Though she has left this world, her spirit and teachings will continue to guide and inspire us.
