Joe Esparza Silva, born September 27th 1928 went home to be with his Lord surrounded with love by his Family Sunday evening April 12th 2015. He was 86.
In his early years, Joe enlisted in the Army where he fought in the Korean War as well as being stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Joe lived most of his adult life in Watsonville where he worked for Martinelli's Cider Co. then later embarked on a career as a Self-Employed TV and Radio repairman until his retirement.
In 1960, Joe married Mary C. Silva, whom later had two children, daughter Anita and son Joey.
He worked very hard to provide for his family, and in 1977 moved into what would become the family home of which he had built.
Joe was always willing to help family and friends with his many handy-man skills. Some of his pastimes included: watching daytime Judge & Game shows, sitting outside in his favorite lawn chair for some afternoon sun, and having lunch with friends at the Watsonville Senior Center. But his favorite joy was singing to Mariachi music on his Karaoke recorder and sharing them with others.
Joe leaves behind his sister Lupe Barcelo who always had a special place in his heart. He is now in death reunited with his Wife who passed in September 2014. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this month.
A "Celebration of Life" Service will be held on Thursday April. 23rd, 11 am at First Baptist Church of Watsonville, followed by a short Military Honor Guard Tribute at Valley Public Cemetery.
