On Thursday, December 12, 2024, John Robert Hoover peacefully passed away surrounded by his family.
John was a man of many wonderful traits. He was born in Provo, Utah in 1933. He graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, California. He was in the National Guard. John, also known as “Rip” married his high school sweetheart, Barbara and they bought their dream home/ranch in Watsonville where they raised cattle, pigs and sheep. They later had a Christmas Tree farm for over 20 joyful years. John also worked for PG&E, was a part-time agriculture state inspector and had his electrical contractor’s license. But his true love was ranching and his tractors. Barbara and John bought a house in Kernville, where they spent a lot of their time. John will be forever missed and cherished by all that knew him.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Hoover and his children, John (Lori), Robin (Tom) Teague and Lisa Capurro. He is also survived by his brother, David Hoover and his grandchildren, Hayley (Jeff) Hackett, Dana (Jason) Biancardi, Angela Teague, Christopher Teague, Tony (Kayla) Capurro, Weston (Regina) Capurro, Cody (Ashley) Capurro and Kristofer Capurro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sylvia Hoover, his son in law, Kris Capurro and his brother, Gary Hoover.
