Julian Ortiz

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, Julian Ortiz Gomez passed away peacefully at his home in Watsonville surrounded by his loving family. He was 72.

Mr. Ortiz was born on September 2, 1942 in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Julian married Socorro Maria Ortiz (deceased) and had three beautiful children. Julian moved to Watsonville in 1986. He met his loving partner, Lucy Torres, in 2000. Julian was a hard worker who had many friends. He loved dancing, gardening, playing bingo, and spending time with his family. Many will miss his humor, warm personality and infectious laugh.

Julian is survived by his 3 children, Julian Jr., (Maria Enriqueta), Beatriz (Daniel) Guzman, and Gabriel (Maria del Rosario); 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 brother, 1 sister, 2 step-children, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Luisa, wife Socorro, brothers Jose, Jesus, and Otilio; and sister Esther.

Services will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 1, 2015. Viewing will be from 12:00-2:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 1:00 p.m.
