Loren E. Callesen

A native of Watsonville, Calif. Loren Callesen died May 2, 2022, in Campbell, Calif. Born Jan. 25, 1935, Loren was the youngest son of Fred and Marie Callesen. He attended Notre Dame grammar school and graduated from Watsonville High School. A graduate of Monterey Peninsula College, Mr. Callesen served in the US Navy on the USS Collett. Upon his return he enjoyed a successful career working in microwave communication technologies at California Microwave.

Mr. Callesen is preceded in death by his brothers Fred and Donald Callesen and his sister Jeanne O’Reilly.

A gentle and creative man, with a passion for travel and wood working, he is survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Callesen, and neices and nephews Pete Callesen (Lara); Dianna Callesen Silva (Jim); Marie O’Reilly Khodadadi (Farrohk), Shawn O’Reilly (Rochella); and Shay O’Reilly; and three grand nieces and a grand nephew.

Services will be held at 10am May 19 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on East Lake Ave. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Monterey County.
