Long time resident of Aptos, Lorraine Patricia Morris died in her home in Aptos, 2 weeks after her 87th birthday.
She was born in San Francisco to Harry&Catherine Leslie. She grew up in Gilroy, CA and graduated from Gilroy High School in 1945. She went to San Jose State University, where she fell in love with Felix H. Morris, Jr. They married on November 24, 1946. Lorraine's husband Felix started a construction business with his brother Jay building many homes and apartments. They had three children, Mary Lynne Morris, Felix Hunter Morris III, and James L. Morris. Lorraine was a wonderful andcaring mother, and an excellent cook. She loved to entertain her many friends and the whole Morris clan. They moved to Seacliff in 1962 to a small beach house which they built together. Raising their children by the beach, they decided to build a bigger house in Rio Del Mar in 1970. Shortly thereafter, her husband Felix passed away in 1976. Lorraine maintained the family business' for the next 36 years. She loved to travel, and was a prolific reader.
She loved the Giants and the 49ers. Watching the Pro golf tour was also one of her passions. There were many trips to the Crosby with her family and friends . Lorraine dedicated a lot her time to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where she was a Decan and an Elder. She was awarded Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Women in 2005. Lorraine was a charitable women giving to many organizations through out her life. She was a strong willed woman and lived life to the fullest. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Felix Hunter Morris, Jr., and her son Felix Hunter Morris, III.
She is survived by her brother Robert Leslie, her daughter Mary Lynne Morris Gann, (Steve Gann), her son James L Morris, (Michelle Morris) and her grandson Mark James Morris.
Celebration of her life will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church 9850 Monroe Drive, Aptos, CA. Saturday, November 8, 2015 at 11:30am
