Louise Cameron

Born on Jan. 19, 1918 and went Home to the Lord on July 14, 2013 at the age of 95.
Louise was born in Penokee, KS to Ida and Benjamin Niehaus. As a young woman, Louise worked with the local doctor by assisting in the transition of newborn infants and working with the new mothers. Later in life she went on to be a well-known and sought after seamstress. Louise met the love of her life, Wesley, while serving lunch to the local men that were assisting in the harvest; and they were married in 1935.
Louise obtained her Red Cross Nurses Training certificate during World War II.
Louise enjoyed dancing, baking and sewing.
In 1937 they started their family with two boys; Raymond followed by Carroll in 1939. In Feb. 1945 the family moved to CA, settling in Watsonville in 1946 where their daughter, Mary, was born.
Louise and Wesley were married 56 years. Wesley went home to be with the Lord in 1991. They enjoyed returning to KS for regular visits with family and friends. Louise was active in many roles at First Baptist Church of Watsonville. She attended the Senior Center and many of her activities including being honored for donating over 300 homemade lemon pies. She also enjoyed gardening and playing with her many Grandchildren.
Everyone knew Louise as "Grandma." Her door was always open, her lemonade was always cold, and her homemade sweet rolls were always hot in 45 seconds!

Children: Raymond (Ruth) Cameron of Fresno, Carroll (Barbara) Cameron of Watsonville, Mary (Donald) Love of Watsonville
Grandchildren: Renee, Rick, Doug, Scott, John, David, Deborah, Kimberley, and Robert
Great Grandchildren: Kathleen, Ashley, Brynn, Blair, Michael, Nicole, Jaime, Wesley, Elyse, and Colin .
Graveside service will be held Monday, July 22 at 11:00 am at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
