Luis "Louie" Delgado peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the age of 86.
Mr. Delgado was born on May 23, 1929 to Melquiades and Eloisa Delgado in Hagerman, New Mexico.
He came to California as a young man where he learned the plumbing trade. He was employed by various plumbing companies and was a member of the plumber's local union for many years, he later owned Delgado's Plumbing. Louie also was a member of the Freedom Fire Dept. for many years and was elected as Fire Commissioner for 2 terms from 1988-1992.
Louie loved to fish, hunt and taught many of his friends and family how too also. Before his illness he attended Green Valley Christian Church and enjoyed going on mission trips like Mexico, Tabago and Uragray and put his plumbing trade and other skills to help serve others.
Louie loved spending time with his family and gardening. Mr. Delgado will be truly missed by friends and family who were blessed to have known him.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Delgado, his children; Stella (Terry) Reyes of Gilroy, Linda Limon, Rita (Vince) Valdez of Watsonville, Dora (Stan) Curtis of Castroville. Louie is also lovingly remembered by his 15 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 16 great -great grandchildren.
Visitation services will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 3:00-9:00 PM with a celebration of life service at 7:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
