Lupe Barcelo

On January 25, 2020, Lupe Reyes Barcelo peacefully surrounded by family, made her journey into eternal paradise.  She was 89.

Born September 14, 1930 in Marysville, CA, Lupe was raised in Watsonville where she spent 25+ years working for the Watsonville Cannery and many years for Harmony foods, where she was known for her kind heart; she made numerous friends throughout those years. She enjoyed working out and had done so for years.  Lupe was also a member of the Watsonville Senior Center, looking forward to Fridays, where she would enjoy "shakin a leg" and visiting with friends.  She was a devout catholic and a  member of Saint Patrick’s Church.  Lupe enjoyed living her life to fullest.

Lupe was preceded in death by her mother Savina Reyes; her brothers Joe Silva, Rosendo Reyes, Don Reyes, and Alex Reyes; and her sister Helen Reyes.
She is survived by her three daughters Rosalva Ramirez (Mario), Josephine Ybarra (Sal Teneyuque), and Vicky Barcelo; her sister Sarah Reyes, and her two brothers Freddy Danny and Charlie Reyes. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Serena Ramirez, Domingo Mireles Jr., Lucina Ybarra, Laila Ybarra, Lety Ybarra (Juan), Mario Ramirez, and Avery Ramirez; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing service will be held in honor of Lupe on Wednesday, February 5,, 2020 at 5:00pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main Street, Watsonville, CA 95076; with a rosary to begin at 7:00PM.  The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life for Lupe on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1960 Freedom Blvd., Watsonville, CA 95076.
