Lydia Monroe

On December 16, 2014, Lydia Borquez Monroe peacefully passed away at Dominican Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 85 years old.

Lydia was a wonderful cook and loved making many types of crafts. She was devoted to her family especially enjoyed the young ones. She had a great sense of humor & always made us smile and laugh.

She is survived by her late husband, Earl H. Monroe and her children; Chris (Susan) Barraza, Mary (Allen) Barraza Boles, Victoria Hull and the late Penelope Barraza. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Anthony, Benjamin, Peter, Joseph, Lupe and Rose Borquez, grandchildren; Matthew Barraza, Kevin Barraza, Jesse Sabala, Jasmin Boles, Renee Troy, Dianna Barraza, Stacy Barraza and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on January 5, 2015 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel from 6:00 to 9:00pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on January 6, 2015 at St. Patricks Church starting at 10:00am with a graveside service to follow at Pajaro Valley Public Cemetery on East Lake Ave in Watsonville.
