Manuel Eduardo Fernandes

On August 30, 2022, Manuel Eduardo Fernandes passed away in Salinas, California. He was 78. 

Manuel was born on May 5, 1944, in Sãn Jorge, Azores to his parents, Jose Eduardo Fernandes and Serafina Fernandes.  

Manuel was a hardworking man dedicated to his family. He ran his own family business with his wife Maria, for many years. Not even his health could stop him from working hard. He loved providing for his family. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed getting away on family vacations. He was an avid fisherman. He was loved by everyone. Manuel was a resident of Watsonville.  

Manuel is survived by his wife, Maria Carmina Fernandes, his children, Lucy Castro, Michelle Corrales, Diane Corrales, his brother, Orlando Fernandes, and 7 granchildren.  

Manuel is preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Arlete Fernandes and his brother, Horacio Fernandes.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel from 5:00-9:00 PM with the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM there will be a Rosary with Mass to follow at Valley Catholic Church. The burial will be held directly after at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.
