Margaret Ruiz

Margaret Ruiz of Watsonville passed away peacefully at the age of 77 in her home on January 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born on February 19, 1935, in Moss Landing CA. She worked at Watsonville Community Hospital for 25 years. She was a caring kindhearted woman who always put others before herself. She enjoyed shopping, traveling with her daughters, watching her nightly novelas with her husband, and having family gatherings. Margaret never missed a festival and loved the occasional ice cream sundae, Snickers bar, Starbucks, and loved gardening.
Margaret was survived by her loving husband of 58 years Oscar Ruiz who passed away August 4, 2013, her five daughters Veronica Olivarez, Susana (Jaime Heredia), Magdalena (Joe Murillo), Sandy Ruiz, Elizabeth (Theron Hildebrand), 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and her two sisters Angie Gay of Simi Valley and Maria Ramirez of Watsonville. She is preceded in death by her parents Jacinto and Consuelo Martin and sister, Sandy Rodriguez. We would also like to thank her caregiver Maria Vargas and the Hospice team.
A visitation will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 5 - 9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. A mass was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church with the burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
Margaret was the best mother and grandmother anyone could have asked for and she will be missed by many. Pat and Debbie Carroll of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel have been entrusted with the arrangements.
