Maria Sanchez de Rodriguez

Socorro Rodriguez lost her battle to cancer early morning on Friday, January 2, 2015. She was 88 years old.

Born on January 23, 1926 in Jiquilpan, Michoacan (Mexico), Socorro lived a long and prosperous life. She was the heart and soul of a family whom loved and will miss her very much.

She was the widow to the late Francisco G. Rodriguez, whom she was married to 40 years.
Socorro moved to the United States with her children in 1967 and has been a resident of Watsonville ever since. She worked for Driscoll's for over 20 years. On her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, sewing and most of all gardening.

She is survived by her 6 children... Ramon Solorio, Luz Medina (Ramon), Gonzalo Solorio, Arturo Solorio (Cristina), Juan Solorio (Leticia) and Lourdes Rodriguez (Rene). Also survived by her 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, as well as numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held January 12, 2015 at 5:00pm followed by a rosary at 7:00pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel (609 Main St. Watsonville, Ca.)
Funeral service will be held on January 13 at Our Lady Help of Christians (2401 East Lake Ave. Watsonville, Ca.) starting at 10:00am with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
