Martha Cortes

On Tuesday, October 20, 2015 Martha A. Cortes of Royal Oaks peacefully passed away surrounded by her family in San Leandro, CA. She was 79.
Mrs. Cortes was born on July 29, 1936 in Mexico to her proud parents; Mateo and Rosa Arevolo.
Martha was a loving and caring wife; mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished spending time with the people close to her such as friends, family and grandchildren. Martha enjoyed many things but loved to cook, go on long walks and gardening.
Mrs. Cortes is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Pedro Cortes and her 5 children; Alicia Cortes, Pedro (Olga) Cortes, Sylvia (Francisco) Ramirez, Norma Cortes and Martin Cortes. She is also lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10:00 AM with a final blessing ceremony to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Rd.
