Mary Burns

On July 29, 2015, Mary Jo Burns peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at her residence. She was 84.
Mary Jo was born on May 22, 1931 in Oklahoma to her proud parents; Harvey and Mary Riley.
Mary Jo was a loving, generous and caring person. Her life was devoted to her family and their happiness. She truly cherished family gathers and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was a babysitter in the Watsonville area for over 50 years and was always willing to give a helping hand towards others in need, especially feeding the homeless. To a loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Friend you will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Riley and siblings, Jerry Riley and Janet Elizalde.
Mary Jo was survived by her beloved children, Deborah Burns, Marilyn Burns, Clinton Burns, Machell Elizalde and Marcial Elizalde. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Elton and Wilbur Riley and her 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St. Watsonville. On Friday August 7, 2015 there will be a final blessing at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Road AT 10:00 AM.
