Mildred Cruz Rosso 93, peacefully at rest, Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Watsonville. Mildred was born is Paso Robles to Narciso and Jesse Cruz. (Her mother was born in Louisiana and came to California in a covered wagon; her father was born in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, MX, he immigrated to the US for a fee of 25 cents and was registered at the border.) Shortly thereafter Narciso purchased a ranch on Buena Vista where the family lived and farmed for many years. Mildred worked for the canneries until she retired.
She is survived by her children John Dorin, Christine Harris, Alex Gonzales, Armand Gonzales, Bill Gonzales, Alexa Routson and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander Gonzales Rosso.
Visitation, Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 4-9pm with Rosary commencing at 7:00 pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass, Wednesday, April 2, 2014, 10:00 am, at Our Lady of the Assumption in Pajaro with graveside interment to follow in Valley Public Cemetery.
