Mildred J. Zellmer, 96, entered into eternal rest, Friday, May 3, 2013 in Watsonville, CA.
Mildred was born in Barnsdale, OK to Oden and Alice Buchanan. On September 26, 1935 she married Rev. Franklin T. Zellmer in Klamath Falls, OR. Mildred and Franklin moved to Chico, CA in 1940 serving in many churches in the Northern CA Conference of the Free Methodist Church until moving to Watsonville in their retirement in 1985. While living and pastoring in Stockton Mildred worked as the manager of the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Lodi, CA. Mildred served in the Women's Mission Society of the NCCFMC for many years. An only child Mildred was blest to have married into a family of 6 children who accepted her as their sister. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
Mildred is survived by her children Vanita and Herman Zellmer, grandsons Craig, Scott and Mark Zellmer, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 62 years, Franklin in 1998.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Road, Watsonville, CA 95076. Memorial contributions to the Corralitos Community Free Methodist Church Missions Fund preferred.
