Rosa Dotson Perkins

On Friday, January 8, 2016, Rosa E. Dotson Perkins passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz surrounded by her family after being diagnosed with cancer only two weeks prior.

Rosa cherished many aspects of life, such as traveling with family, taking trips to Reno, playing the piano, keeping in touch with her relatives and her top priority was spending time with her grandchildren. Rosa was also a waitress for over 40 years at Golden West in Freedom and Santa Cruz Diner. In her earlier years she also worked at popular cruising hangouts in Watsonville such as the Pronto Pup, A&W Root Beer and the old Foster Freeze.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; Rev. Ray and Faye Dotson and brother; Benjamin Dotson.

She is survived by her children; Walter (Pam) Middleton of Placentia, CA and Rose Marie (Ruben) Perkins Juarez of Boulder Creek, CA. Siblings: Leonard (Susan) Dotson of Watsonville, CA, Paul (Betty) Dotson of Red Bluff, CA, Naomi (Bob) Manger of Watsonville, CA.. Rosa is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Desmond Martinez of Watsonville, CA, Jessica Middleton of New York, NY, Rosalee Juarez and Ruben Ray Juarez of Boulder Creek and her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St. Watsonville. A service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
