On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, Rosemary Moran peacefully passed away at Watsonville Community Hospital. She was 90 years old.
She was born on April 2, 1925 in Henniepin, Minnesota to her proud parents.
When Rosemary was 13, her sister Jane and parents left Minnesota and traveled west and settled in San Francisco, CA, where she met and married her beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas Moran.
Thomas worked as a conductor for South Pacific Rail Road. They had a great passion for traveling the world. They first lived in Elkhorn Sanctuary while they were building their own home in Las Lomas.
Rosemary was a woman of many wonderful traits. She taught English to Spanish speaking adults and had a true passion for helping her students.
Rosemary received a California Grant for her outstanding ideas in helping Spanish speaking adults assimilate to everyday activities of living in Watsonville. She also taught line dancing at Watsonville Community Hospital, local convalescent homes and residential assistant living facilities. Rosemary enjoyed walking and watching wild life along the Sanctuary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Moran, mother, Kathryn Moran and nephew, Tommy Moran.
Rosemary is survived by her nieces; Kathy Choate, Susan Pelissier, and Lois Linderman and nephew; Michael Moran. She is also survived by her caregiver and close friend of many years; Margarito "Chito" Corrales and his sister Julie Machado.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Saint Patricks Church at 10:00 AM.
The family invites friends and relatives to gather and celebrate the life of Rosemary at her residence, 40 Overpass Drive, Royal Oaks at 11:30 AM.
