Scott Alan Richey passed peacefully in the company of friends and family the morning of Sunday, November 28. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Norma, his Brothers, Brad and Kurt, and his 5 nieces and nephews. Scotty was an accomplished bowler at his local bowling alley and an enthusiastic competitor in the Special Olympics. He liked to sing at church and was known for the familiar, warm welcome that he would give to everyone he met. He “never met a stranger” and supported members of his homes by greeting, welcoming, and engaging all those who joined his community. Scotty will be remembered for his quick wit, warmth, joy, and love of life.
He will be honored with a memorial service on Monday, December 6 at 2pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on 609 Main St. in Watsonville, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family is supporting the Special Olympics of Northern California. If you wish to honor Scotty in that way, please visit www.sonc.org and dedicate your donation in Scott Richey’s memory. Donations in the mail can be sent to: SONC, 3480 Buskirk Ave, #340, Pleasant Hill, CA, 94523
