Shirley Coffey, a beloved wife, mother and friend, went Home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2024. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri but her family moved to California when she was young. Here she spent the remaining part of her life getting married and raising a family.
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Bill Coffey and their four children, Debbie Sheehan, Randy Coffey, Brenda Large and Kevin Coffey. And her 7 grandchildren.
She was cherished not only as a loving wife and mother but also for her generous spirit and the joy she found in cooking for others. Her culinary talents and her nurturing nature extended to the community where she worked at Rio Del Mar Elementary School. There, she was affectionately known as "Grandma" by the children, a testament to her caring presence and the positive impact she had on young lives.
A graveside service to honor Shirley's life and legacy will be held at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park on Sept. 4. 2024 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life service will follow at a later date. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
