Tecla Casillas

Tecla Casillas passed away at her family’s home surrounded by her family on Thursday November 10, 2022, she was 87 years old.

Our beloved mother and grandmother Tecla Casillas was born September 23, 1935, to her parents Hipolito Cervantes and Guadalupe De La Torre in Watsonville, CA. She married her husband Jose Guadalupe Casillas in Pegueros, Jalisco, 62 years ago.

She worked for Richard Shaw’s food processing and Buak’s apples. She was dedicated to caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, watching game shows, her favorite was Wheel of Fortune, and the Price is Right. She was very religious and was often praying.

Mrs. Casillas is survived by her husband Jose Guadalupe Casillas and 8 children Estella (Louie), Eduardo, Maria (Roy), Martha (Mike), Carolina, Benita (Scott) Margie, and Fred. Her 4 siblings Tacho, Ramona, Alfredo, and her oldest sister/godmother Rebeca. Followed by her 15 grandchildren Michael, Brianna, Dante, Amanda, Marty, Jillian, Trisha, Ava, Chloe, Jonathan, Joshua, Brian, Jordan, Matthew, Brandon and 8 great grandchildren Aly, Nico, Gabriella, Marley, Laila, Joseph, Olivia, Ryker.

She was proceeded in death by both her parents Hipolito and Guadalupe Cervantes and siblings Joe, Ole, Balbino, Francisco, Ana, and Mercedes and granddaughter Danielle.

The rosary will take place at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Our Lady Help of Christian Church followed by the Catholic Mass starting at 1:00 PM with the burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
