Teresa passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, having spent her final days surrounded by her family and close friends.
Teresa was born on February 28, 1939, in Guadalajara, Mexico to proud parents Francisco and Maria Villalpando. Teresa immigrated to the United States in 1955, as a young bride to her husband Jose Raul Vargas, settling in Watsonville, California. She dedicated herself to raising her family while working for Watsonville Canning Co. and Green Giant until her retirement.
Her passions included tending to her beautiful flowers, gardening, and caring for her children and grandchildren. Teresa was always known for her generosity and willingness to share with others. Her favorite activities included cooking, baking and exploring flea markets and yard sales, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Teresa is survived by her 5 children, Carlos Vargas (Patty), Eddie Vargas (Monica), Rosa Flores (Jose), Joey Vargas (Sylvia) and Art Vargas; her 4 brothers and her sister. She also leaves behind her 11 grandchildren, 6 grandchildren-in-love, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters who will all dearly miss her presence and guidance. Teresa was preceded in death by her husband Jose Vargas, her granddaughter Lydia Vargas, and 2 brothers.
