Tommy Thompson

December 7, 1965 — February 11, 2025

Watsonville

Thomas “Tommy” Albert Paul Thompson, 59, of Aptos, California, passed away on February 11, 2025.

Tommy was born December 7, 1965, in Los Gatos, California and was the son of Douglas Paul Thompson and Joan Evonne Thompson (Jensen) of Watsonville, California.

Tommy graduated from Watsonville High School in 1983. He began work as a glazier in Watsonville and became highly proficient in auto glass repair and window tinting. He worked at several companies in Santa Cruz, San Jose, and Washington state over the course of his career.

As a young boy, Tommy enjoyed riding in the antique cars his father restored, and joined in many Horseless Carriage car touring events with his parents and sister, sometimes in the period clothing of the 1920’s. As he got older, he often helped his Dad with the auto restoration work. Tommy truly valued his family and long-time friends, and he was famous for his amazing teriyaki barbeque!

Tommy especially loved motorcycles and cruising on his Honda 1800vtx to work and for pleasure. He also always loved animals and shared that love with his children. As an adult he was devoted to his imposing but loving Rottweilers (Conan, Hercules, Ali) and, most recently, his German Shepard dog Onyx.

Tommy is survived by his children Jeffrey Thompson (Mariah Padilla), Samantha Thompson, Kayla Thompson, his daughter Jacquelynn Rust and his granddaughter Scarlet Rust. He is also survived by his former wife Angie Thompson, mother of Jeffrey, Samantha and Kayla, and by his sister Vickie (Thompson) Walker and her husband Tim Walker.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father Douglas Thompson and his mother Joan Thompson.
