Antonio L. "Tony" Garcia, age 82, resident of Aptos, CA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren on August 17, 2013, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Tony was born on January 17, 1931 in La Union, New Mexico. His family moved to Corcoran, CA at the age of 9. At the age of 20, he married his one and only love, Flora. They were married for 62 years. They enjoyed many years of travel, family and friends and home projects.
In 1963 he moved his wife and children to Aptos and raised his family near the ocean. Tony had many hobbies, including; fishing, gardening, cars, traveling and most of all spending time with his kids and grandkids. He worked in the automotive industry for 37 years. Tony was a friend to all and always had a ready smile, he was known for his humor and quick wit.
Tony is survived by his wife, Flora Garcia - their four sons and daughter; Gabriel, George and Susan Garcia Aptos, Gilbert Garcia of Oroville, and Gary Garcia of Kauai, HI, a sister Sally Garcia Goana of Rosemead, CA, a brother Placido Garcia of Hanford, CA - as well as his beloved eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was our strength, love and laughter and will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6-8 pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville. The graveside service will be Friday, Aug. 23 at 11:30 am at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Rd., Watsonville.
The family prefers donations to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
