It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victor Manuel Diaz, a lifelong resident of Watsonville.
Victor was a proud graduate of Cabrillo College, where he earned an AA degree in Construction Management. He spent many years as a self-employed business owner in the landscape construction industry, creating a reputation for his skill, dedication, and hard work.
Victor’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a loving husband to Lori, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage, and a devoted father to Joshua, Megan, and Allison. He was also a doting grandfather to Jameson, Logan, Kylie, and Miles. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Outside of work, Victor had a deep passion for rugby that extended far beyond the field. It wasn't just about playing or watching the game—it was about the connections he built along the way. Rugby brought him lifelong friendships, creating a tight-knit crew of best friends who traveled together to play across the country. Through countless matches and adventures, he forged a second family within the rugby community, where camaraderie and shared experiences made the sport even more meaningful. For Victor, rugby was more than just a game; it was a way of life that brought people together, no matter where they were from.
Victor was a lifelong learner. He loved being a student, constantly seeking to grow and expand his knowledge in every way possible. His curiosity and enthusiasm for life were contagious, and he made an impression on everyone he met with his kind, charismatic personality. He had a way of making people feel seen and always made a point to say hello if he saw you.
Victor’s legacy of love, joy, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, please honor him by cherishing and remembering all the good memories and the times you shared together.
